    VBE File Save anomaly (Word97SR2)

Kevin had a post on this a few months ago but I can't find it; if anyone can locate it I'll post the link in this message.

I just noticed what to me is an anomaly:

I'm in Word97 VBE. Within the VBE I have made a change to my procedure code, so I click the diskette button on the VBE toolbar to effect a save. I notice the "I am saving now" blue progress bar extending at the bottom left of the screen. Good. My template is saved.

I Alt-Tab back into Word, and there is the document part of my template. The template is the only document open in this session. Out of idle curiousity I click the diskette button on the Word97 toolbar to effect a save. I notice the "I am saving now" blue progress bar extending at the bottom left of the screen. Good. My template is saved twice? Yet I made no changes at all between the VBE save and the Word97 Save.

    What's going on?

Re: VBE File Save anomaly (Word97SR2)

I have an idea. Try this: make a change to the document (template) text. Click Save. Progress bar. Now switch to the IDE. Change some code. Click Save. Progress bar.

Now back to the document. Click save. No progress bar.

    What's going on?

Dirty code panes and dirty documents are mutually exclusive properties even though the entire document (code and text) is saved with either save button.

    How's that?

Hi Kevin. Wasn't it your post about the FileSave button in IDE about three months ago? I wanted to refresh my memory on what you said then.

Yes, it was. I was only hypothesizing then, but it looks like you have confirmed my theory.
