The disk is full (XL97 SR-1)

I open Excel, navigate to the folder (on my D drive... 5 gig avaialble) where my file is and open the file (9 meg). It is a simple spreadsheet with tons of numbers that I do some custom (via VBA) formatting to. There are 3 tabs in the workbook (Sheet1, Sheet2, and Sheet3). When I tell Excel to make a copy of Sheet1, I get the error message "Disk is full." I have done a virus scan, run scan disk, and run de-frag. My swap file also points to D drive. Any idea of what gives?

Thanks in advance for your help
