Queries & Forms (Access 97 (may be useful in 2k also))

I've been asked to normalize an Access 97 videotape database. The user wants to have one query with 6-7 fields on it whereby he (or anyone else who wants to look up info) can fill in any combination of the 6-7 fields and pull up records matching the data entered. It's no problem from the Query grid, but how do you set up a form to work with that query? I've tried setting up the query as a parameter query prompting for those fields, but if you cancel or close the parameter request for one field, the whole query gets cancelled. I have also been toying with combo boxes. Any suggestions/ideas?
