    Graphics Not Updating (A2K SR1)

I have a form, Form1, with a subform, subform1. Form1 contains four combo boxes, Select Project, Select Milestone, Start Date and End Date. Subform1 is a MS Graphics graph. Whenever any of Form1's combo box values are changed, the graph changes accordingly. (This works great...)

Here is the problem. Form 2 launches code that opens Form 1 and passes new arguments for the Select Project and Select Milestone combo boxes. The Form1 values for Select Clin and Select Milestone in the opened form match the new arguments. However, the graph in Subform1 does not update to reflect the new arguments.

I have tried refreshing, re-painting, re-calculating, closing and opening the form without any success.

Any ideas on how I can get Subform 1 to reflect the correct graph based on the passed arguments?

    Gary,

Is this related to your other question here?

Does the Row Source of the graph in Subform1 refer to the combo boxes in Form1, or do you rely on the link fields of the subform and/or graph?

I have found that charts in Access 97 don't always update reliably if I use the LinkChildFields and LinkMasterFields properties, so I always put explicit references to the controlling fields in the Row Source of the chart. I don't know if this is the same for A2K.

    Charlotte,

You asked, Is this related to your question here?

The questions are similar, however, not directly related. Since I can already open the form and pass the arguments (not using the open arguments on the docmd.open), what I wanted to know if there is some way of getting the graph to re-fresh as the arguments have already passed. I have other forms (not graphic) where I pass the arguments and the view re-freshes as it should. I am trying to figure out why the Microsoft Graphics form views do not update as well.

Perhaps if I passed the arguments in the open arguments portion of the docmd.open form statement it would work, however, I don't think this is the case. In the other post, I can't get the open arguments to pass correctly.

The graphics is linked via using the link child and master fields which may be part of the problem.

Re: Graphics Not Updating (A2K SR1)

... For this graphic, I am relying on the link fields of the form / graph. Perhaps this is the same problem you encountered in Access 97. I will try to put the references in the row source and see if that works.

    Thanks for the idea.
