    Differing Word HTML Icons? (2k/XP)

    Hi,

When you save a document as Word HTML in Version 2000 or XP - 2 different icons are produced.
The former has a normal blue "e" icon as used by the Explorer Browser to identify HTML Files.

My confusion is, does this different icon come from the different versions of Word - or does it come from different versions of Windows - e.g. Windows98 and 2000 for example?

    Ta,

    m.q.

Re: Differing Word HTML Icons? (2k/XP)

When you save a document as a web page, you are saving it with an .htm or .html extension. It will therefore have the icon of your default browser, as it is a web page. When you save it with a .doc extension, it has the icon of Word. The exact icon depends upon both the browser & Word version.

There aren't two icons unless you make a copy of an existing document. When you do a SaveAs, you are saving an existing document (unless you've never saved it before).

    Hope this helps.
