    Permissions/Sharing (A2K SR-1)

It must be Monday. Right now, I have to share my database from my desktop through the network. To limit access, I went to each system and created an account for them with certain permissions. This morning, only the admin account will run anything. Their personal accounts will display the switchboard, but will not execute any macros. I've checked all the permissions again, everything looks good. Any leads?

    Thank you.

How did the users start the database ?
If it is a database with User Security, normally you start the database with a shortcut.
In the Target of shortcut you should have:
    "c:PathToMsAccessMSACCESS.EXE" "PathToYourDBYourDb.mdb" /wrkgrp "PathToYourMDWFileYourSystem.mwd"
Quotes are only needed if there are spaces in the path.

BTW Did you solved your combo problem with the help of Wendell?

Here is the path I have for the shortcut
    "8mar1bn045bndb$Battalion Database 1.mdb" /WRKGRP"8mar1bn045Battalion DatabaseBattalion Group.mdw"

This is suppose to open the database and invoke the workgroup permissions right?
This should bring up the login screen. It does, but then none of the accounts are valid. Do I need to create users on every system? I shouldn't have to right?

As for the combo box, it isn't even a concern this morning. But I will work with it later tonight.

    Re: Permissions/Sharing (A2K SR-1)

Pretty sure you need the actual path to MSACCESS as well in there, i.e.
    "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeMsaccess.exe" "8mar1bn045bndb$Battalion Database 1.mdb" /WRKGRP"8mar1bn045Battalion DatabaseBattalion Group.mdw"

As well, you said only the "admin" account was able to do anything. Did you mean that literally? If the account called "admin" still has access, you've got a significant hole in your security.
