Autofit row heights too big (2000 SR-1)

I am working on a simple table that has about 13 columns of information. In the first few columns the text can vary from very little to quite a bit, so I have Text wrapping on for the cells in the table. When I use the format/row/autofit to set the row height, there is a lot of space above and below the text in some of the boxes, thus taking up too much space in the output. In some cases a row that should (visually) take up a single row of text looks 3 rows high.... any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

Try making the offending columns marginally wider. That can affect the vertical space Excel perceives as being needed. The other thing to remember is that Excel's wysiwyg capabilities are not as strong as, say Word, and printouts can sometimes look a bit different to what you see on screen.
