Re: FixContext Startup Add-in 1.1 (Word 97/2000/XP)

    Hi Guy:
I tried to load the template & got a message:

    Compile error in hidden module:
    idGrab

It put commands on the Tools menu, but they didn't work. Any idea what caused this? I'm using Word 97/SR-2.

    Cheers,

    FixContext Startup Add-in 1.1 (Word 97/2000/XP)

    NEW VERSION OF UTILITY
(this one is specific to Word 2000/XP, see below for FixDot97))
    Menus cleaned up

    What it does:
FixContext will place six menu items on the Tools menu:

FixContext Settings

Customize

Customize Keys

Organizer

AutoManager

Tools Macro[/list]The first item displays a dialog where you can choose which of the five internal Word commands to replace with the modules in FixContext.

    Why?
Well, by default, the five modules in question want to save customizations (or copy in the case of the Organizer) into the Normal.dot template or into the active document.

This isn't very bright. If I'm in a document based on a template, chances are I want to save my customization into that template, not into the normal context or into the document itself.

    Notes:
If you have more than one document based on different templates open, Organizer will assume you want to copy from the active template to the other template.

If you only have open a single document, it will assume you want to copy between the document and the template.

If you are directly editing a template, the default destination will be that template.

If you doublt click on a blank area of a toolbar, you will get the build-in ToolsCustomize, not my replacement.

    Installation
Unzip the attachment and place FixContext.dot in your Word startup folder.

    History
Fix to ToolsCustomizeKeyboard. It wasn't firing. Typo.
Added trap for ToolsCustomize when run from the ToolBar List.

    Hi Phil.

My mistake. This latest version doesn't compile with Word97...
