    Winkgj.exe (virus? trojan?)

    Hi folks,
I have a client who's running Quickbooks on Win98SE. He thinks he got an e-mail virus because Quickbooks will not load, with the following message:
"The C:PROGRAM FILESINTUITQUICKBOOKS PROQBW32.EXE file can't load at the desired address, and is not relocatable. Contact your vendor to get a version that is compatible with this version of Windows."
Needless to say, the version is fine, has been running w/no problem for months & months.
I took a look in his startup configuration, and saw a program called Winkgj.exe. I tried disabling it, but it returned after I restarted the computer. I started in MS-DOS mode, and get a "File not found" when I search in WindowsSystem, which is where the file shows up in Windows Explorer and in the Startup list.

Can someone help me to delete this file? Also, would there possibly be any other files associated with this that I should look for?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Charlie T.

Well, this has been a helpful forum -- I didn't even have to wait for a response!
From a different post I traced this file to the Klez virus, downloaded the fix and the problem is gone.

Sure would be nice if I could pull off the same trick at the office....that is, getting a project completed just by virtue of showing up and talking about it? <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15> Glad you found your solution!
