    saving contacts (Outlook 2000&Win98)

    How does one save Contact 's in Outlook 2000 ? or what file extension are they save'd in - May have to do a Windows Instal and start from scratch again and need to save Contact list as well as Inbox. Thanks

    Howdee - Now, say my .PST file is getting very large - How do you open it ?? and clean out non essencial.
    Or can you delete the .pst file completely ? [ probably have to reload Office then ?]

    <font color=red>DO NOT DELETE YOUR .PST FILE!</font color=red> That is where all your contacts and mail are.

    You can create additional PST files to stash away stuff that is less important but you don't want to lose. File|New|Personal Folders File... Assuming you are displaying the folder tree (View|Folder List) you then can drag stuff among folders pretty easily. Of course, you'll need to make sure you back up all the individual PSTs...
