Back to specific slide after link out to web page (PPT97 w/ IE 5.5)

A PPT running on the intranet has hyperlinks out to other .html and .pdf -- these open in same window, but when the browser back button is clicked, the user returns to 'slide 1', not the slide they started from. On the other hand, a newly installed pc (probably updated PPT/IE) will return to the correct slide. Example: Link "out" is on slide 6, we need to view the linked site, then hit Back and return to slide 6.

Any way to make this happen consistently - assuming PPT97 and IE5.5, or even Netscape 4.x on user machine?

No because you are assuming that everyone viewing the web page has the updated version of netscape, powerpoint and internet explorer. Unfortunalty unless it is viewed from an intranet you have no control over that.

Ok - was hoping for 'magic words' to make it all better. <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29>
