Rounding up...but only in printing report! (2000)

My table includes a field for credit (clock) hours for courses. In the table, the field displays the correct numbers. Some are whole hours (1, 3, 4), some are just one-half hour (0.5), but many are, for example, 2.5 hours.

Here's my problem: I use the data from the table (via a query) to create a report. The hours for courses that are, say, 2.5 always round up to 3! Funny, but the 0.5 items do not round up to 1! What's goin' on here?

This may be an extremely stupid suggestion.

What happens if you make the credit hours text box slightly wider? Access has odd ways of rounding numbers when they don't fit in a text box.

HA! Not such a stupid question after all!

Golly.... I made the text box wider and...yeah, that fixed the problem! But that's weird, ain't it? Some of the other boxes in that same field had "0.5" and those entries displayed just fine! With that field formatted on the report for General Number, "3.5" displayed as 4--but only because the box was too small to display 3.5. Goofy, but that's Access!

    Thanks, Hans! <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>
