Word to FrameMaker (Word 2000 SR-1)

We are going to be preparing Word documents that ultimately will be pulled into FrameMaker by our client. I know nothing about FrameMaker, but have been told that Word documents should be formatted so that FrameMaker can accept them easily.

HELP... looking for "in-the-trenches" guidance, a good website, and/or a good book.

    TIA,
    gg

Sun Microsystems uses FrameMaker. Maybe take someone there out for a drink and get the scoop. But seriously, shouldn't Adobe have the answer? The Adobe Knowledgebase search didn't really return any practical tips, but at least Word 2000 is "supported":

FrameMaker 7.0 Import and Export File Formats
FrameMaker 6.0 Import and Export File Formats

    Best of luck!

Many thanks for the Adobe Knowledgebase pointer. We are outside of DC, so I don't think entertaining someone from Sun Microsystems is an option (they are in CA, right?).

Did get a PDF file from a fellow worker after my cry for help (Simplifying Word to FrameMaker Conversions) that I hope will help.
