    scanskw.exe

    I have deleted this program as it had an icon similar to Dr Watson used in windows98se which i am using I have tryed to find it again with no luck I get the message this file could not be found If there is any one out there that can help me with this i would be greatful

    I think the file you're looking for is scanDskw.exe, not scanskw.exe.
    1. Click an empty spot on the taskbar & press F3.
    2. Make sure that the look in box is your primary hard drive & that "include subfolders" is ticked.
    3. Type scandskw.exe in the "named" box & search.

    If you don't find it, you can run system file checker to restore it, so long as you have your original Window 98 CDs.

    Thankyou very much I did find it in there after all this time but the problem is My system came with windows98 se already loaded on the computer is there a way of replacing it back into system tools were it is supposed to be

    It belongs in your Windows folder. Simply copy it back there. If you're referring to the shortcut in System Tools off the Start menu, just find scandskw.exe & drag it to the Start menu. Don't release the mouse & the menu will expand. Keep holding the mouse down until you find the submenu that you want open & then drop it on it.

    Thankyou so very much it is so easy when you know how I have been trying for over a week to try and resolve this problem but it just took one night in here I will be coming back again if i need help thanks again Phil
