Mixed domain performance issues (WinXP Pro (sp1))

    Hello all,
I am sure some of you have seen the ongoing conversations at microsoft's newsgroups about network performance issues, especiialy with WinXP on an NT domain. The fixes that are described are a variety of turning off services (or marketing demo's that no one uses in the real world), changing settings and registry hacks. Thus far, none of them seem to be working for us. Has anyone here found anything conclusive, or are we stuck with lousy performance and a shload of bells and whistles?

    Regards,
    Gordon Price

One thing you probably want to do is not automatically search for scheduled tasks. Don't recall if that is a registry hack or easy GUI access setting. You can find out more info using Google to search the MSKB. Can you be more specific about the performance issues? At startup? With a specific app? Printing? File management? Drive mapping?
