Spreadsheet size in doc (Word 2000 SR1a)

I have an Excel spreadsheet where scaling has been applied. In Excel, with the scaling, a single page includes what I want in my Word document.
If I use File | Insert to insert the spreadsheet into Word, the scaling is lost. I cannot find any way of getting onto one Word page what scaling allows me to include in one Excel page.
Is there a way of achieving this please?

I don't think it can be done that way. When you insert, the spreadsheet is converted to a Word table. You'd have to do a lot of fiddling with the table to fit it on one page.
    Try:

In Excel, select the range you want to see in Word.

Copy it.

In Word, select Edit/Paste Special...

Select Paste as Excel Worksheet Object.

If you wish to keep a link to the Excel data, check Paste Link.

Check or uncheck the Floating Over Text checkbox according to your preference.

Click OK.

Now you can scale the pasted object using the handles at the corners.[/list]

Sorry, I should have said Insert | Object. However I tried your method but still the same problem, the selection is too big without the Excel scaling being taken into account.
When you scale in Word, it just scales what is in the "frame", it doesn't extend what can be seen i.e. you don't see the extra columns we want.
Have worked around it by spreading the data onto separate sheets but would be interested if it could be done recognising Excel's scaling.

    Hi Peter:
I don't think you can do it directly. The solutions (more or less workarounds) are found here

Basically, it's changing margins or font size.

Thanks Phil. I'll look at the link.
    Thanks also to Hans.
