    Access Sending e-mail with Outlook 2002 (Access/Outlook 2002)

This is a repeat of a post in Outlook which has gotten no response. Pardon me if this is an old question. Have scanned last several months and don't see one. What is the simplest way to allow MSAccess to send Outlook messages and get around the necessity of clicking the YES button to authorized Access to send the e-mail message. We have several MSAccess databases which are programmed to send messages at the click of a button or when certain events occur.

The problem is the security patches on Outlook, and you definitely don't want to take those off for very good reasons. One way to get around them will require adiditonal programming on somebody's part because it involves ExtendedMAPI calls. The easiest way to work that is to invest in the Redemption library, which wraps the extended MAPI calls in a programming interface. There are some things you can't do using this method, but it gets around the security patches, because the ExtendedMAPI calls don't compromise Outlook security.

    I saw this bit in a (I think ) a woody newsletter:

    6. GOOD NEWS ON THE WORD 2000/2002 UPDATE
Diane Poremsky (http://www.poremsky.com ) dropped me a note
about her experiences with the Word 2002/Office XP April 25
patch. She loves it - and she has several important reasons
    why...

    > Word 97, 2000, and 2002 (in Office XP) all have the
ability to perform a mail merge, using Outlook Contacts,
and generating email messages. The April 25 patch finally
(finally!) allows you to perform a mail merge without
    triggering Outlook's pesky security warnings.

There's another simple program to handle this called ClickYes at http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html

I tried it and it works great.

I just looked at the site you gave, and had an interesting thought that perhaps you could do some testing on. Since the Outlook patch is in place for very good reasons, and I only want the "Click Yes" to be bypassed when I specify -- having it bypassed constantly really is not in your best interest, right? -- so would it be possible to have Access launch the utility only as needed? Use RunCommand (?) to start the program from within the database that is sending the email, allow the program to do its auto-yes-click, and then shut down once it is no longer needed.
