    conditional format (excel 2000)

Is it possible to conditional format (background color) an entire row based on content of one cell in that row?

Yes. Lets say you want to conditionally format row 3 to a Red background if cell A3 is greater than 10. You would do the following:

1- Select the entire row 3.

2- Select Conditional Formatting from the Format menu.

3- In the drop down list select Formula is.

4- Enter this formula in the text box:

    =$A$3>10

5- Click the Format... button and click on the Patterns tab.

    6- Click on Red

7- Click on OK until all dialogs are closed.
