    Chart display problem (2000)

I am having difficulty toggling a chart between appearing normally (on the worksheet) and in its own dedicated sheet. Changing this view seems to shrink the plot area and cause other undesirable changes. Also, I seem to be unable to access certain regions of the chart for formatting (plot area for instance) when the chart is in its own sheet.

I don't really care which view I use. I ultimately want to print the chart so that it occupies a full A4 printed page.

    Any advice appreciated thanks.

If the chart is on the worksheet, you should be able to print it so that it scales to fit the paper size simply by selecting the chart (ie click on it), rather than the underlying range on the worksheet, for printing (or for a print preview).

Thanks. This might be the simplest way for the task at hand. Still wondering if corruption of the chart display when swapping "locations" is a bug with my release of 2000.

    No bug, a "feature".

Running around screaming madly with an expression that expresses shear despair is quite normal behaviour when you're trying to make an Excel chart look and print exactly the way you want it. <vbg>

    Re: Chart display problem (2000)

Thanks for the "reassurance" ;-) I'm trying out some 3rd party graphing software too, but they all seem to have their "features".

BTW, do you (or anybody) know why the word MULTI always appears in the subject line of all my posts, together with a repeated subject? e.g.
Chart display problem (2000)-MULTI-Chart display problem (2000)

Is there a way to rid me of this meddlesome beast?

    thanks

I've no idea about the MULTI thing.

Any moderator around having a clue??

I've no idea why it happened. I've changed the titles, but can shed no light on the reason.

Yes, thanks Geoff for looking at that. I'm the only poster I've seen with these "ailments" and it occurs for most, but not all, posts. This is my current list of my own posts if it's of any significance:

It's probably something to do with your browser. I've never heard of "My Bu" - what is it?

Re: Chart display problem (2000)-MULTI-Re: Chart displ

My browser is IE5, but my local junk-blocking/privacy proxy software reports the browser as "My Business". I don't see any other posts suffering from this symptom, and *some* of my posts come up OK, so I can't see it being a browser problem myself... but I could be wrong of course. If the Lounge Admin don't come up with the answer, I'll try bypassing the proxy & see what happens.

    thanks

I think I might have hit upon the source of this MULTI thing. I previewed and corrected a message several times before posting, and it seems to have gained a MULTI in the header for each time I previewed it. It's Post: 158567 in this forum.
