    Clip Art (Office 2000 SR-1)

On my Win XP Pro machine using Word 2000 SR-1 when I go to insert a clip art from on line (Microsoft's WEB site http://dgl.microsoft.com/?CAG=1) the click to preview and also the animation of some of the clip art does not work. It works fine on my Win 98 SE machine running Office 97 SR-2. What can I do to get this to function correctly on the Win XP Machine?

I don't know if it is Word or IE causing this but I have checked the settings of IE 6.0 on both machines. I still could have missed the setting that causes this but I tried to make sure that both machines' IE Internet Options were set the same.

    Thanks

Provide us a link or the file name that does NOT work. Please note that ALL of the files do NOT contain animation.

    Dave,

Here is the link http://dgl.microsoft.com/?CAG=1 but you may have to hit the "accept" button to be taken to the next page which is still the same URL address. Then I clicked on the

You must have java turned on and no script blocking software. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

Since you are running XP have you downloaded the VM from MS or the java code fron Son? Windows XP did NOT come with this code.

Re: Clip Art (Office 2000 SR-1)

Because of the Sun suite, MS has pulled the VM from there site. But if you go to "Start, Windows Update" it should be listed if you have NOT installed it, with a link to where you can. Since I have it installed I can NOT test this, this is what has been printed in the press and online.

However, it has been stated that MS will provide the VM on the SP1 CD when it is released later.

    Dave,

I checked the Update site and it says that I have installed the VM. So now the question is how do I turn Java on?

Again when I check the I.E. options I still only see

I think that the option that you need to check is below both of those.

I'm not as knowledgeable in this area as Dave, but he's offline right now. Have you tried going to Add/Remove & running the repair option? I can't think of anything else.

    Phil,

No I haven't tried that but from what I have read about it, I am probably better off not going that route. It might cause me more problems than it is worth.

    Thanks for your help.
