    Installed System Font is missing...

Here's a strange one you... It sure has me stumped!

Here's the background. Windows 2000 SP-2 is the operating system.

My user created a document using the SNAP ITC font (snap____.ttf). She then needed to copy the document, and the font file to a diskette for use by the printing company. During this copy stage, I believe she mistakenly moved the font file to the diskette.

When she attempts to edit the document, the font is incorrect. We've tried to copy the file back to the fonts folder, without success. We've tried to re-install the font, but it asks to have the current one removed first. The only problem here, we can't find a way to remove it!

    Any suggestions? We're baffled!

Can you see it listed in Fonts?
If so, can you rename it?
    Have you done a re-boot?

I'm wondering if there may be a problem in that it is being remembered in the recently used fonts thingummy that Word has....

Well, we tried the "reboot", but that didn't resolve the problem.

However... we did resolve the problem by trying something else! Logging on as the local administrator, instead of the domain user or domain admin, we were able to delete the font, then reboot and re-install it.

Thanks for the tip there Leif... it got us in the right direction... we just needed a slight detour along the way.
