    labels (97sr2)

    Hello all,

I'm just wondering. If I create labels in Word and I change the labeltype.
The next time I use this function Word has selected default the last labeltype I used.
Where is Word storing the last selected label of envelope type?
I'm pretty sure it is not stored in the normal.dot, but I could be wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing that it's found here:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice8.0WordWiz ards

but I'm not sure. That seems to be the most likely place according to:
WD97: Where Settings Are Stored in the Registry (Q157464)

    Cheers,

    It's certainly not in Normal.dot.

I haven't been able to find any "readable" value in the Registry (including the values under ...Wizards) that relate to labels.

I suspect it's in the notorious Settings value in the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice8.0WordDat a key. This is a binary value, so you can't interpret it easily.

    Hi Hans:
I believe you're right. I experimented with various labels, starting & exiting Word in between. The settings were retained. Then I exported the Data key & deleted it, & restarted Word. The labels reverted to a default. I imported the Data key & it reverted to my last used label setting.

    Good call.
