This might be a little deep for a FP forum, but...

We're about to migrate an IIS 4.0/NT server site to IIS 5.0 on Win2K. Microsoft has a migration wizard that seems will care of most things, but the site is 1.25Gig and I fear they may not approve moving that much data over the network.

Would it be safe to backup the wwwroot directory and restore it to the new server, making sure to include the metabase.bin file? Will doing so preserve all the web functionality or is bringing over the metabase file not enough?

I'd much rather just run the darn wizard...

Thanks,
Dave
