txt attachments in message body

Txt attachments (especially from Outlook Users) arrive as part of the message body at my end. Since they also arrive as ordinary attachments, this is not much of a problem. However, if the files are very big, OE tends to crash when I answer such a message. Any neat solutions?
TIA

not really. check some of the oldest threads in this or the outlook forum, it's a server issue.

Thanks! At least I now know that it's not my fault. So the solution is simply not to use "reply" for messages with large txt attachments. I guess I can live with that ;-)

Hi
Do you mean that if you get an e-mail with a large text inclusion, you send the whole thing back to the sender with your reply? I may have misunderstood, but wouldn't that be rather cruel (if it worked, that is)?

attachments normally are not left on replies. you'd need to insert it (but don't )

i don't think you can delete attachments from the arriving message using express either, so if the message causes a crash you'll have to send a new one and copy over what you want quoted.

You are right in both points. Well, that is feasible after all

Re: txt attachments in message body

I must have got hold of the wrong end of the stick. I thought we were talking about large text inclusions within the message itself, rather than attachments.
OE deals with the two quite differently. Sorry.

Never mind! Of course you are right, one shouldn't include more than absolutely necessary.

MJ.
Is there a way to delete just the attachment from a stored message in Outlook (not Express)?

Never Mind.

Just figured it out. Open saved message. Right-click attachment. Click remove.

This will really clean up my PST.

PS: Could find no references to this in help. One more time that knowing that something can be done is 90% of the solution.

you can also automate it using VBA or exlife or casaveatt from http://www.ornic.com.

Re: txt attachments in message body

Tx. I took a look at both, but I think it will be simpler for me to just save as, file, and remove the attachments. My AV kicks in automatically as well when I save. Or try to, in the case of a virus.

The rules I have are already working well.
