GANTT CHART FROM ACCESS (A2K SR1)

Anyone know if there is any ability in Access to create a Gantt chart or used something similar. I am looking for some ideas.

I am using access to connect to MS Project and warehouse data. If necessary, I could pass the data back to MS Project to develop the gantt view, but would prefer to avoid the programming..... I am aware excel has an add in to do this as well, but would prefer to use Access.

    Any ideas?? <img src=/S/scratch.gif border=0 alt=scratch width=25 height=29>

    Hi Gary,
fwiw. I haven't found a "real" Gantt chart in Access, but, for my meager charting applications, I've used the code in the following link to Dev Ashish's site directly and with a few modifications. It works well enough for them.

Re: GANTT CHART FROM ACCESS (A2K SR1)

    Thanks Gary,

The application will give me some ideas for some other stuff (Love these technical terms).

However, Based on a review of the report parameters the users want I will need to graph two sets of data for each task (Critical Path and Baseline) as well as show the current percent complete, baseline finish, and planned finish for the current month, as well as the planned finish dates for any two prior months selected by the user.

How I will accomplish this is as follows:
    - I have access connecting to MS Project, extracting data, and storing data in monthly tables
    - Several queries linked to combo box selections will manipulate the data and create and write an extract file to some location.
    - MS Project will then import the necessary data and will use MS Projects Gantt chart to create the plot. I will use an MS Project Import Map and set the merge key to the unique ID.

Well, thats it in a nutshell. Thanks for the idea.
    Regards,

    Gary

Do a lounge search on GANNT or GANTT for some previous threads on this question.
