    Photo album maker??

I'm looking for a software package that will allow me to compile a collection of photographs with an index or table of contents and prepare to burn it on a disc.

Here's what I'd like to do.

I'd like to produce a disc that, when someone inserts it into their drive, it will perform an autorun function and display a menu or table of contents (with possibly some type of GUI)

Is there something that does that?

<P ID="edit" class=small>Edited by WyllyWylly on 24-Jun-02 21:12.</P>There are a ton of viewers out there and I think I have tried most of them but the one I really like best is not on web. If what you are looking is a good viewer that allows you to view, copy, save, show as slide show, or display pics as thumb nails or full screen, etc. and also simple to use then get a copy of the WALMART IMAGE viewer. If you ever get pic developed at walmart & request a disk it will be on there. There are 4 files, a walmart.exe , .gid, .hlp, and logo.jpg. All that you need to do is copy these into your pic directory, and create a autorun.inf file.

Most popular CD burning software packages can do something like this for you. Roxio, in particular, has a nice set of tools to accomplish Photo CD creation. Having never used it I don't know if it will create the autorun file for you or not. If that's not the case, there is a free and quite powerful Autorun editor available at http://www.karenware.com/.

If you don't want to go with a CD burning software suite, then you do have alternatives to creating photo albums. There are several share and freeware programs floating about that can handle this, such as ACDSee.

This probably is not what you're looking for, but it does generate an album in HTML with indexes and best of all it is <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> Web Album and I have used it to transport a rather large collection of pictures of a house under construction - most anybody who has a computer has a browser that can process HTML files.

I use Video software from ULEAD. You can organize your digital pics, add music, burn it to a regular CD-R (very cheap) all within the program. Then you can take the newly created Picture Disc, insert it into your home DVD player and you'll have a very nice slide show on your television screen or you can play it just as easily in your PC-based drive.

You can download a trial version from their website to see if you like it. It;s called Ulead DVD PictureShow.
