Question on Table System Objects? (A2k (9.0.3821) SR-1)

    Question on Table System Objects?
    A2k (9.0.3821) SR-1

I created a new db imported all objects from old db, added necessary references, compiled clean and noticed additional system table objects ending with 1 and 11

Compact and Repair Database did not remove them.

    What are these?

    Can I delete them?

    MSysACEs
    MSysACEs1
    MSysACEs11
    MSysIMEXColumns
    MSysIMEXSpecs
    MSysObjects
    MSysObjects1
    MSysObjects11
    MSysQueries
    MSysQueries1
    MSysQueries11
    MSysRelationships
    MSysRelationships1
    MSysRelationships11

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, John

In theory, the tables without the 1 or 11 should be the current ones, and you should be able to delete the extra tables. Just to be safe, I would suggest making a copy of the database and deleting them in the copy, testing to make sure nothing is broken, and then repeating the process in the live database. If you are comfortable poking around in the system tables, you could also check to see if the 1 and 11 tables exist in MSysObjects before you start tinkering.

    Hi Wendell

The 1 and 11 objects are in the MSysObjects table in the name column, what does this tell me?

    Thanks, John

That would indicate to me that they could be deleted, since that is the repository for all table objects except MSysObjects. Never the less, try deleting them in a copy before you do it in the live system.

You selected all the tables from the other database and forgot to exclude the system tables. So you wound up with copies of the original db's system tables as well as those in the next db.

You do if you select all tables. It's one of those peculiarites that make Access so *interesting* to work with. <img src=/S/nuts.gif border=0 alt=nuts width=15 height=15>
