Yellow Navigation Arrows

If I use the arrows to go to the next thread it opens the thread at the first entry. It doesn't scroll down to the newest addition. I have to go back to the topic list and click there. Is there a secret to making them scroll? Or is that just the way it is?

It has been this way since day one. I pointed it out to when she first installed the hack, and was not able to come up with a fix.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Pity, it would be a major usability enhancement.

There's some rather complex logic involved here, it would take a fairly long time of development / debugging to change that. One day, when I have heaps of spare time perhaps

You could flip it to flat view (if not alread there) and hit Ctrl+End to go to the bottom where the newest entry will be...

That is exactly what I do now. The problem is that some threads have had multiple additions since I last viewed them.

When I open the first thread in a forum in flat mode, the screen is positioned at the first new entry since the date I last viewed this forum. What I would like is for this date/time to be remembered and for the left and right arrows to position the new window at the same point it would have done if I had just clicked on the thread from the Forum window.

That was a complex sentence, I hope it makes sense. I don't mind waiting till after next Sunday if Claude is busy during the week.

    Re: Yellow Navigation Arrows

I just did a quick test to check that I understand this correctly.

If I open a forum and click on the lowest "Unread" entry in the list then the new post opens in flat mode at the first entry since the date I was last in this forum. If I read this thread to the end, return to the forum and click on the next thread then I am again taken to the earliest new entry. If instead of going via the forum display I click the left arrow then the new thread is positioned at the beginning.

So it looks as though I can get the behaviour I want by returning to the Forum view between every post, but it would be much nicer if the yellow arrows would behave like this.

    Re: Yellow Navigation Arrows

I really didn't expect to open such a can of worms. I really don't mind going back to the index to open the next thread. Sometimes I even jump around or skip a thread so that is OK. Mostly I was just curious and wanted to be sure it wasn't something in my settings. But of course if Claude can get it fixed NEXT Sunday....... Tx

Edited because I forgot another reason NOT to use the yellow arrows until this post changed the order of the list by moving this one to the top. Just forget the whole thing I don't want to use them anyway. So there

So who put the icon in front of the Post number so that I could identify new posts, works very nicely - thank you.

Yes, the yellow flags are nice. How long will it remain "new" before flag is removed?

It's removed when you've read it.
