    Controlling Color Printing

Is there a way in Windows (NT, 2000, or XP) or with a 3rd party program to control who can print in color and who can only use B/W?
    Thanks

    Re: Controlling Color Printing

If you are creating the printers as shares on a server, you have OS level control over the share. You could provide limited access to the regular driver, and set up a second share for B&W. For the second share, perhaps the driver has a setting that can be pushed down to the client software to print only in B&W, or you can test our various older (monochrome) print drivers to use instead, although matching the resolution might be tricky (e.g., between HP and Epson, for example). Trying to do this all through one printer share doesn't seem possible unless the driver software is beefier than usual.
