Upgrading to WIN 2000

I've just upgraded from WIN98SE to WIN2000 and in the process of installing WIN2000 over the top of WIN98SE I've found that some of the programs/tsr's I had in my WIN98SE Startup list no longer get started at bootup

Can someone tell me where in WIN2000's command structure do I have to go to enter instructions to get these programs back into the Startup

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Upgrading to WIN 2000

There are a number of different places, depending on the application. The easiest method is probably to deinstall and reinstall the applications, so they get configured correctly - assuming that they are all supported on Windows 2000.

Places commonly used for starting things include.

The Startup Group in your personal start menu

The Startup Group in the All Users start menu

The RUN key at HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVe rsion

The RUN key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersion[/list]StuartR

    Thanks Stuart

I've now found how to add the programs to the Start routine

They aren't ones which offer to self-instal themselves in the Start routine, that's why I was in trouble

I'm still learnig how to drive WIN2000 *^^%$%$

    Cheers n Beers
