    track changes (Word XPSR1)

When deleting text we want to show it as a strike out. Default appears to show it only in colour

Try looking in Woody's Office Watch, Volume 7 Number 11

"Go into Print Layout View (View | Print Layout) so you can see what you're doing.

"Get rid of the balloons and force Word to show you deleted text in the main body of the document by clicking Tools | Options | Track Changes, and unchecking the box
marked "Use balloons in Print and Web Layout."

"You should see inserted text formatted as underlined, and deleted text formatted as strikethrough. If the inserted text isn't formatted correctly, click Tools | Options | Track Changes and twiddle the settings in the upper box, marked Track Changes Options. If the deleted text isn't formatted correctly, read my discussion in the next section."

    Re: track changes (Word XPSR1)

Hi Stuart, I'm running Word XP 10.2627.2625 and my track changes always defaults to show deletions with strikeout. Even old documents that were created in Word 95 or 97. Is there some registry setting that controls this?

    Hi Stuart,
MS knowledge base article Q323220 gives the answer - a registry setting! This works, and could possibly be implemented company wide using logon scripts.
