I just had a close one with my app not compiling properly.
What Happened was:
Whilst in a form module I pressed the compile button, I noticed that the name of the compile button

It happens. Access 2000 is worse about this than any previous version. It will get stuck halfway compiled and exhibit this behavior. One way to be sure is to decompile first. Then a compile should work properly.
