    XML Button Commands

Looking for information creating HTML button commands to serial port for home automation. Example would be to have a home intranet communicated with 802.11 PDAs or ethernet connections to access home intranet. Home web page then could be browsed from any location. Pages would be developed for commands to home electronics via IR or RS232. There are some though limited apps available. It would be nice to created a play button on a web page and then link a command or commands to the electronic device.

    Sincerely,
    Jim

    Re: XML Button Commands

    Hi Jim,

What do the commands look like that you're trying to execute? Are they Executable files? I'm a little confused - your subject mentions XML, but your post doesn't....

You can use the SSI Execute directive to pull this off if the file is an executable and if you set up your server permissions correctly...

    An example would be: < ! - - #exec CMD="cmd.exe [optional /Switch]" - - >
(note that the HTML hidden tag is intentionally spaced in order to display properly on the Lounge).
