MS Crabby Office Lady? (Office XP)

I get occasional Office Update junk mail from MS. A recent email had link to the MS Office "Assistance Center" featuring handy hints, tips, & advice (of dubious value) from the so-called Crabby Office Lady. This was news to me - never heard of this opinionated woman before. Maybe "Crabby" (depicted below) is trying to take over ole Clippy's turf? As for her columns, they appear to be thinly veiled advertisements for MS products, with dummy-level advice, probably not of much interest to anyone here. I just thought it was funny that they are at least making feeble attempt to be humorous at MS. (Remember those animated "Clippy" episodes when Office XP was first released?)

Well, somebody has a sense of humor, whether it's the Phyllis Diller look-alike or not. Otherwise, she/they wouldn't be praising on-line Help and crooning about how easy it is! Right! Anyone who's tried it knows exactly what a joke *that* is. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

It seems rather obvious to me that this is MS flirting with a trademark issue... ie: a thinly veiled take-off of Dear Abbey. ("Ms. Crabbey" ?)

more likely one of the employees in my office - an older woman who likes to fuss and complain and is always sarcastic... the column is written by a softie and is intended to be a humorous attempt as educating users. I have no idea if it works, but it's funny to read.

I think writing an article about Word template customization and never once mentioning styles isn't that funny...

softies, like many users, don't understand styles... and don't use them to the fullest, so it doesn't surprise me.

I was going to add a witty comment to my original post to the effect that maybe one of the resident experts from the Lounge or from WOW has gotten themselves a new day job at Microsoft, but figured my witticism would not be appreciated.... besides, if that were true, the alleged advice offered would be of higher caliber....
