    outlook 2000 and word 2002 (office 2000)

My new machine came with XP and word 2002 but I want to use my existing Office 2000 for outlook powerpoint etc.. Outlook won't let me use word 2002 to edit text in messages. Is there a way around this without shelling out for outlook 2002?

    TIA

Sorry, but no, if the version of Outlook and the version of Word are not the same then most of the cross-application functionality like letters wizard etc won't function.

Your choices are either to shell out for Outlook 2002 or to downgrade your copy of word to 2000.

Thanks Mike. Disappointed but not surprised.
