    Outlook Passwords (Outlook 2000)

Currently, my company is using Groupwise for email. In the next few months we are converting everyone over to Outlook 2000. In Groupwise, you can set a Groupwise password that you then have to enter everytime you open Groupwise. Can you setup Outlook to do the same? If so, how?

    Thanks!

Just do NOT have Outlook remember your password and you will have to type it in everytime.

    Re: Outlook Passwords (Outlook 2000)

I think there can be a couple of different passwords: Exchange, your POP3 mail (if any), and the local Outlook files (.OST/.PST) if applicable. Are you changing the back end server to Exchange? If so, this might be a server setting to prevent users from storing the password for mail from that server. the Office Resource Kit for the relevant version of Outlook also might have some information on administrative policies to prevent the saving of passwords, since the users would be pretty unlikely to go along voluntarily.
