    Customizing Windows Explorer

Every so often, it seems like my folders in Windows Explorer has a mind of their own. They show up as large icons and I have to manually change each folder and subfolder to "detail" view. Is there some way to customize all my folders in one fell swoop so they are always in detail view?

    Thanks,
    Rick

    Re: Customizing Windows Explorer

    Hi Rick:
I've had this problem ever since Win95, & the utility that used to correct that in W95 didn't work in 98. <img src=/S/sigh.gif border=0 alt=sigh width=15 height=15> However, if you want to keep ALL your folders in detail view, set one of them to detail view & then go to the View menu/Folder Options/view tab & click the button that says "Like Current Folder". The problem really ocurrs when you want to mix the views depending on the folder. Every so often, they go back to the default. I haven't found a way to prevent that.

There is an option under the View tab: "Remember each folder's settings".
I think if this is NOT selected, Explorer will revert to the original default setting even if you change the view for a specific occasion.
