    Change Default Save Folder (2000)

I want to change the default save folder in Word 2000 and Word 2002. I only have Documents, Clipart pictures, User templates, Workgroup templates, Autorecover files, Tools, and Startup. When I save or save as, it defaults to c:windowstemp. I want to change that. Any ideas? Thanks.

What is File Location>Documents set to? Is that the folder you want as the default?

What happens if you navigate to that folder, save a file there, close the file, create a new file then try to save the new file. Does the dialog open to the Documents location?

Re: Change Default Save Folder (2000)

I might add that once you open a file (or save a file), then Word will continue to use that file's folder during that session until you change it. It will use the last folder in which a file was opened or saved. i.e. if you open doc1.doc from Folder A, then create a new file & save it, the FileSave box will open to Folder A. If you now open doc2.doc from Folder B, the FileSave dialog box will now "default" to Folder B.
