    Re: Hard Drives (XP PRO)

Regarding the way the drives look in Explorer, that's fine - as long as you know what they are. Windows assigns drive letters as drives are added to the system. If you don't like the lettering and want the hard drives grouped together, you can change that by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Manage. Under Storage is an item reading Disk Management. To change the letter of the CD-ROM drives, right-click on the drive itself; for the ahrd drive partitions, right click on the correct letter (logical drives appear as separate drives in Explorer but are physically located on the same disk - hence the term partition).

To clean up the 4GB hard drive, right-click on it in Explorer and choose Format. It's that easy. You'll get a dire warning about losing all the data on it but that's what you intend to do anyway, so click OK and have a coffee/cigarette/whatever_vice_you_choose break. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15> For a 4GB drive you might not have time to choke down a smoke, but you deserve the break anyway, right?
