    Remove user login prompt

I inserted a user through the control panel. The user is no longer going to use the computer. I removed the users folder and .pwl file, however every time I boot up the system, it now requires me to login. How do I eliminate this prompt each time on startup?

Try changing the password to nothing (using the Passwords control panel). If there is no password, Windows should start right up.

    Re: Remove user login prompt

There are a few ways for users to log in to Windows. There is the simple Windows logon, the Microsoft Family logon, and a full-blown network logon. Each one is handled a little differently.

The Windows logon asks simply for a name and password. This is the logon where entering nothing will bypass the prompt in the future.

The Family Logon is a prettier box with a list of previously logged-in users. If you're seeing this, you need to go into the Control Panel, select the Users applet, and delete the unneeded user name(s). Then go into network and make sure that the 'Primary Network Logon' is set to Windows Logon.
