Mouse Pointer Changes in Help (Word 2000)

Occasionally (very infrequently), my mouse pointer changes to a horizontal double-headed arrow (thick) when I roll over the Help window in Word or in VBA Help. Rolling off the window changes the cursor back to normal. While in its double-headed state, the cursor is useless and therefore I cannot use the Help dialog. Closing and reopening Word does not remedy the problem. I must reboot the computer to resume normal use of Help. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I inadvertently hitting a magic combination of keys that disables Help?

I have experienced this too - I have no idea what causes it or how to work around it.

    Hi Larry:
I've experienced similar problems (Win98SE), but not necessarily Word, which makes me guess that it's Windows related, but I'm not sure. I have a bridge program that causes that on occasion. Sometimes, when the cursor changes, it still works. I'm afraid I don't know what causes it either...at least we're not alone. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
