hyperlink to a named cell from powerpoint (Excel 2000 sr1)

I have a user who would like to create a hyperlink in a powerpoint presentation to a particular cell in a spreadsheet. I can create the hyperlink, but it defaults to the last visited cell in Excel, and I need to send the viewer to a certain cell (say, E4, as an example).

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

In the Insert Hyperlink or Edit Hyperlink dialog, you'll see a combo box and a text box.

In the combo box, you enter the path/filename of the Excel spreadsheet (or browse for it).

In the text box, you can enter the name of a cell, in the form

    'Sheet Name'!X37

You can't browse for this (at least not in Powerpoint 97/Excel 97).

Aha! I didn't have a separate text box (other than the display text) but putting the entire path to my named cell (i.e., Cocuments and SettingsmeMy DocumentsBook1.xls!sheet1!cell2) worked.

    Thanks!
