Shared Contacts Folder lookup (Outlook 2000 SR1 Corp/Workgroup)

    Folks,

On a shared Outlook Contacts folder, the user with permissions to the folder cannot do a quick lookup in the folder by typing the first few letters of the contact's last name. This user has four mailboxes in her folder list and the lookup works in three of them, but not the fourth. The owner of the Contact folder can do the lookup, and the user with permissions can do the lookup a couple of times after adding the folder to her folder list, but then it fails. This folder contains 1012 contacts.

    Any ideas?

    V.

Well, "Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the product...."

    See MSKB Q318743.

The article contains a link to request the prototype fix which is only applicable to certain Exchange environments where Contacts permissions are assigned across information stores.

Thanks Van. We recently upgraded to Exchange 2000. The bugs are coming out regularly.
