Has anyone tried the nt/95 "Send To X" powertoy on win2k?I have found version 1.2 and 1.4, but both of them say "only NT and 95".
I really miss this functionality from my old NT workstation. I
f the powertoy doesn't work, is there another way to send the name & path of the currently selected file(s) to the clipboard?

    Yup, and it works <img src=/S/exclamation.gif border=0 alt=exclamation width=8 height=23> <img src=/S/joy.gif border=0 alt=joy width=23 height=23>

Do you know which version works? I'm a bit afraid to install it, since the install procedure is so odd I'm afraid that I will have a hard time removing it if messes things up.

I think they all work equally well. What it does is to add a special shortcut into your SendTo folder, so uninstalling it should be a breeze - delete the entries that it makes. I typically use the "Any folder...." option, and there is registry patch for Windows 2000 and XP that replaces that with a nicer dialog, so I haven't installed it lately. But it does work. Download the latest version direct from Microsoft, they're still available!

Yes, it works on Win2k. It also works on WinME. I use it all the time on both systems.
Just make sure to follow the instructions for installing. As you probably know, it is not your normal install.

What 'registry patch' were you referring to?

Can you post a link to the site?

    Thanks.

I had actually learned about this elsewhere and created my own REG file to do the trick, but I found some documentation at John Savill's website along with a downloadable patch. Same thing, different sources.
