    data type (accesss 2000)

    i'm relatively new to this & figured out w/a little help the creation of fields in an existing database but the setting of data types has me stumped. can anyone point me in the right direction?

    In choosing a data type you are specifying the type of data that will be stored in a table field. Each field can store data consisting of only a one data type. That is; if the field is a LastName, you would use text. If the field is DateofBirth, you would use Date/Time and so on. If you look up "data type" in Access Help, it will give you a listing of all the data types and a description of each.
