Re: IPCONFIG window closes to fast (WinXP/2600)

Open the command window first, using Start - Run - CMD or put it in a BAT file with a PAUSE statement at the end. This is the default behavior.

Re: IPCONFIG window closes to fast (WinXP/2600)

Thanks! This still isn't the function I'm recalling (it wasn't a DOS type window in the past, but a window with buttons to click on for releasing and renewing). I can't renew the bindings now because it says the media is disconnected. Of course, the reason I'm trying to renew is that it won't synch up in the first place. I don't have another WinXP machine to compare with (others are 98 & ME), so this is getting frustrating. Any ideas how I would get to that native WinXP window?

IPCONFIG window closes too fast (WinXP/2600)

I used to be able to use IPCONFIG from Run to refresh my DSL bindings, but now the command results in a window that appears and disappears too quickly to read. Any idea how I can modify the command so that the window WON'T close on completion? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Re: IPCONFIG window closes to fast (WinXP/2600)

Okay, I found the result I want on my wife's WinME machine, using the winipcfg command. I thought that was the window I used to get on my WinXP machine using ipconfig from Run. Any ideas how I might restore this functionality (remove and install this component, perhaps?)

Re: IPCONFIG window closes to fast (WinXP/2600)

On my Run window, I used the following command: "C:Program FilesResource KitWNTIPCFG.EXE"

Trouble is, with my ol' gray-memory, I can't remember if that command was already on my XP installed hard drive or if I had to go get it from the CD or what I did. Take a look on your machine and see if you have it.

May I make a correction? I think this is where I got that IP configuration program.

It's available for download from the Microsoft website. It's not included with the OS install.
