iHateSpam software (Win2K / NT 4.0)

What can anyone tell me about iHateSpam software from Sunbelt-software. One of my superiors (who is a bit <ahem> 'puter illerate) was DL'ing this as I was leaving work today and I did not have time to check into it. After I came home I did some online research about what this is and I can't find much except their website which looks like a nicely setup marketing ploy. Help!
BTW, we are a small office with offsite tech support, 11 workstations, server updated just 2 days ago to Win2K and I know little about the new setup yet, workstations are still on NT 4.0.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I was a little worried there when I found Sunbelt. I don't speak Italian! Two things I would tell you to "encourage" your supervisor about. The program he's looking at COSTS and it only supports the Outlook mail client.

We've had threads here in The Lounge describing a program called Mailwasher. I've been using it for a little while now and it's doing a good job for me. If you want to go take a look, you'll find Mailwasher at this link. Let's us know if you're successful at , er, re-directing his efforts.

http://www.sunbelt-software.com/ sure looks like english if you ask me...

Works with Outlook and Outlook Express. AOL version coming soon

    - while it doesn't work with every client like mailwasher, it is not restricted only to outlook either. I believe this integrates with outlook, so it's seemless, unlike mailwasher which makes checking email a 2 step process.

My bigger concern is if it's being used on a work account, that the admin should be using a solution on the server, not having each user installing whatever.

I hope miladytn isn't distracted by this, but maybe it's a humorous Saturday. When I did a Google search on " ihatespam " this is the first web site that came up. I followed the link to the program, I just thought it was funny. OK, I'm outta here.

Mailwasher is a fabulous program. I've been using it since Mar-April of this year. It is indeed FREE but I did send a contribution of $3.00 usf. Best buy I've seen in a while.

Well, it seems to be working great. Previously we had been using the filters in Outlook since we could not decide which program to try. Those filters blocked about 20% of the spam. iHateSpam is blocking about 90%. And, so far, none of the blocked messages have been "real" email. I was able to find a few more tidbits by surfing around and it seems this a fairly new program. Guess thats why not much info on it. If (or when) we find problems, I'll report back. Thanks for all your help!
