    Oultook Bar Colors (2000, SR-1)

When I select "Organize" from the "Tools" menu, the subsequent screen I get often has the colors incorrectly displayed. Specifically, it is the "Using Colors", or "Using Views" etc. that, instead of showing in the appropriate scheme as reflected in all other Outlook areas, they show as dark blue (hard to read) against the default background.

Any ideas as to where the color schemes or configs are stored? is there any way to "switch to default" colors (thereby removing what seems to be an added definition)? Or even better, is there any program out there to specifically control the visual aspects of Outlook?

Any assistance you can give me, or pointing me in the write direction would be helpful.

it's controlled by a style sheet compiled into a dll. if you have the latest IE patches, the style sheet doesn't work because of security added by the patches.

So how can/should I correct this? An older DLL? Another version of IE?

you can either edit the dll with visual interdev or a similar program or live with it. Otherwise, you would need to remove a security patch and i do not recommend that all at.

    MaryJ:

Since I tend to stretch my odds... why couldn't I just save off outwww.dll from the original install, and then...

the dll is not what changed - the patch blocked the css that is in the dll. you need to add the styles to the html files in the dll.
