    Office 97 date probs.... (Office 97 sp2)

i have a friend with some win95 boxes running office 97 on them. they're on a network. anyway, in all of the apps it appears there is a problem displaying the date. as an example, when you open a celndar entry in outlook ... where you would see a date you see "7/d/yyyy". if you look at the edit date of a file it shows you "7/d/yyyy". anyone have any ideas what's up with this???? thx.

I would have thought even Windows 95 would error-check the date format that you enter into Regional Options, but just in case...

Try going to the Regional Options control panel (not sure if that's what it's called in W95, but the icon should look like a globe) and looking at the date formats to see if there's anything weird there.

thx for the info. it's that way there, too, however, so the problem appears to be not only in the apps but in the OS as well...

Did you try using the control panel to change the date format to something sensible?
