    word tables (Office 97)

Is it possible to insert a graphic into a word table cell and have text wrap around the graphic? Can achieve this on a normal word page without a table but have tried everything and failed to do it in a table - this includes making the graphic 'floating' etc. I can do it easily in WP 8. Any help much appreciated.

I don't think this is possible in Word 97. Graphics in a table cell can only be inline graphics, i.e. they behave as characters. Text can't float around them.

I haven't got Word 97 running here but you can certainly do it in Word XP. I can check on Word 2000 but no longer have access to a Word 97 machine.

    I suppose an upgrade is out of the question . <img src=/S/hushmouth.gif border=0 alt=hushmouth width=16 height=16>

Edited after looking at Word 2000
Nope, Word 2000 doesn't do it with tables. I would guess that XP or a different way of laying out the text is the only (Word) way to go.
